Is Chiropractic safe?
Yes. Chiropractic is widely recognized and researched as one of the safest and natural ways to help with neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Chiropractic is safer than back surgery, muscle relaxers and even common over-the-counter aspirin.
Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?
Most patients agree that chiropractic adjustments are painless and report more of a feeling of relief and improved mobility. However, some people that are new to chiropractic and do not fully relax during the adjustment may feel some soreness.
Can I adjust myself?
No. This is dangerous and can cause more harm. Even your skilled chiropractor must seek a fellow colleague to help restore and maintain proper spinal function.
When will I feel better?
The answer to the question lies mostly in each person’s efforts to get well. Many patients feel the benefits of chiropractic immediately or very soon after they begin care. It depends on you and your problem. You will respond and heal at a different rate than the person next to you. Your problem may have other complicating factors such as, length of time you’ve had the problem, how you developed the problem, daily activities, daily lifestyle and so forth. Dr. Lowery will be able to help you determine when you should begin to see the benefits. The more effort you put into your wellness, the more you will see out of it.
What can I expect on my first visit?
At Blue Ridge Family Chiropractic, we seek as much detail as possible about your situation. You will first fill out the initial paperwork followed by a thorough consultation with the doctor. The doctor will actively listen to your problems and dive deeper to search for effects on your daily activities that could contribute to your problem. The doctor will then do a series of tests including, but not limited to; palpation, range of motion, orthopedic, neurological and x-rays. All these things will be compiled with the doctor’s expertise to develop a custom care plan that fits you and your life. We are dedicated to helping you and doing what is best for you.
